Find me on

Eric Ellis posted about this at the beginning of the month but the New York Times is slowly releasing their archival prints through a new tumblr: the Lively Morgue. The black & white prints come with a short story as well as a scan of the back, which shows the photographer’s notes and the headline it was used with.

Jamie Martinez has a series of amazing gif animation portraits she’s made in Mexico City last year. So I was back on her site this week and found these strange landscape photographs. Interesting how she warps the colors on some of these while others look like they could also possibly be naturally strange. Going to be great to see this set expand.

Thank god we invented noise-canceling headphones.

Kimberly Kane is gonna be a photographer you wanna look out for. She’s got photographic talent that’s two steps away from fantastic and an eye for real sleazy subcultures and subject matters. Kane’s a good fit at Vice for sure.

How to rock a suit: skimmer/boater hat and plaid tie with a newspaper.

There’s a hint of 60’s glamor in Emilie Muller’s photography that makes it feel timeless. The first picture especially reminds me of a still from a New Wave film

The stripped shirt is an essential for men. Here it acts as an added pop to the muted, but very classy, trench coat. The difference between ‘stuffy’ and ‘cool’ lies in the subtle pops you choose to wear.

Normally I’d say cigarettes are also essential but I’m running on Month 3 without em.

Somehow my obsession with the Kennedys has led me to a new obsession with Marilyn.
